About Kruse Kittens
Our Story
We are Bill & Michelle Kruse, a small family-owned cattery specializing in Teacup & Toy sized Persians. We began this journey 23 years ago because we wanted to share the joy and love that these amazing animals bring to our lives. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, because these are living creatures, but it is the most rewarding contribution we can and have made to the purebred feline world. We have never felt the need to exaggerate anything about this breed, they speak for themselves and are the number 1 choice for purebred felines for as far back in history as they have been keeping track. Whatever led you here, please don't hesitate to ask questions, for that is how you learn. We have written more about the size of our cats HERE.
Our family farm is located in Calico Rock, AR, which is North central Arkansas and the closest airport is Little Rock, AR (LIT) or SGF Springfield, MO. We do have a close relative that has a private nanny delivery service, which means that he only delivers our kittens so there are zero concerns about being mixed in with other kittens from who knows where. Since the pandemic, we can no longer ship our kittens unaccompanied so BEWARE of people that tell you they'll "ship" your kitten, it is simply NOT possible. I have to address the scams, unfortunately they are a very real part of our lives. They take our pictures, even our words written here and create quick websites and fake Facebook pages overnight. Please know the market your shopping in! Persians are the most elite and expensive purebred feline there is and if you see prices that seem to good to be true, IT IS!!! They prey on people simply not knowing what to look for! Never send money to anyone who will not speak to you on the phone, even in a world where we buy and sell online everyday, talk to the person who claims to have that kitten!
Our Philosophy
We believe in responsible breeding practices that prioritize the health and well-being of our cats and kittens. We are committed to producing happy and healthy kittens that will make great pets for families and individuals alike. A Health guarantee is probably one of the most important things a breeder can put in writing and give to those trusting your hard earned money, and your heart with. ALWAYS ask about this!! I can't stress the importance of it!
Due to the recent and horrific outbreak of feline leukemia from a breeder who sold kittens to both N.Y. and Florida and has since spread, we will no longer sell our kittens to anyone who is also purchasing a kitten from another cattery. This is a highly contagious and fatal disease that should never have been so carelessly spread. Our animals are all PKD1, Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS Negative! Our animals are also Factor 12 (blood clotting disorder) NEGATIVE! We have to protect our animals and we just simply have to exercise caution with the rapid rate of pop up breeders who are NOT TESTING THEIR ANIMALS!

Our Home
Our family farm is nestled in the Ozark Mountains of North Central Arkansas in a little town called Calico Rock. The early settler's named it so because the bluffsides that line our 2 rivers and both of our very large lakes are so colorful they brought to mind the coat of a Calico cat. How's that for kismet? We love it and can't imagine home anywhere else. We are both in our mid 50's and have 3 grown children and 4 beautiful granddaughter's, so all kittens come pre-spoiled! We bought this old farmhouse sitting in the middle of 90 acres and have been rehabbing it, sometimes we joke that it's the "country castle" lol. We are a Veteran family of my husband who served 8 years both in Germany and in N.C. We also give a discount to other Veteran families on the purchase of a kitten, so ask me about this if you have a Veteran in your immediate family. Our 23 years of the Persian journey have had far more incredible days than bad, but it wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the heartache that accompanies raising animals. We don't take vacations, we are dedicated to this. We also raise miniature ducks and horses. We are well versed in miniature genetics. Beware of people claiming to raise "Teacup Persians" in a casual phrase or tossing it around and not fully explaining it, I only know of one other breeder who is still working with these genetics and that's just a fact. It's not something that you jump into thinking you'll master it, that would be a fool's errand. We try to cover as much of that as possible HERE.
As for me and my picture taking skills, I'm a mediocre photographer and I do my best to capture each angle and a complete presentation of every kitten in pictures and videos. If you desire a professional photographer, we do know a few that can be hired at an additional cost to you. Those fees are separate from the price of the kitten. Experience has been that if you like my so so pictures, the kitten is even better in person!

Family IS everything!
My husband & I were childhood sweethearts. Our families lived on the same dirt road, we went to school together, to church together, it was only natural that we fell in love and never looked back. Our family is number 1 with us. And these faces are the best thing we ever did!

We couldn't be more blessed than to have our 4 granddaughter's carry on our family love for animals, especially cats. Watching the world through their eyes really puts things into perspective. Our kitten's are pre-spoiled and spaniel approved:)
